REAL-Time Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) is now available for children and teens
The Guardian REAL-Time system is now available in a model specifically for children and teenagers ages 7-17! REAL-Time CGM offers important therapeutic benefits.
Features special 90 mg/dL low threshold alert limit for added safety
The pediatric model features a low glucose alert threshold that cannot be set below 90 mg/dL. This feature is intended to provide pediatric patients with additional warning time to react to potential hypoglycemia (low blood glucose).
While this feature is designed to provide an additional measure of safety, it also has the potential to create more frequent alerts. To help you manage alerts, we recommend that you use the SNOOZE feature, which allows you to silence low glucose alerts for up to one hour while you work on getting your glucose back in range. See our FAQ section to learn more about managing REAL-Time alerts.
