Robert Vigersky, MD
Dr. Vigersky is Chief Medical Officer of MiniMed Group, Inc., where he leads a team of diabetes experts to ensure our products, research, and clinical decisions are safe, effective, and aligned with patient needs. He has served as Chief Medical Officer at Medtronic Diabetes since 2019 and maintained that role through the company’s separation and IPO as MiniMed Group, Inc.
Dr. Vigersky is a retired Army Medical Corps colonel with 27 years of Active Duty at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, where he also founded the Diabetes Institute of the Walter Reed Health Care System. Dr. Vigersky still sees patients on a regular basis at Walter Reed Health Care System as a Red Cross volunteer and is a Professor of Medicine at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. He was a member of the VA/DoD diabetes guideline committee and represented the Department of Defense on the Advisory Council of the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases. He has published over 320 scholarly papers and abstracts focusing on the use of technology to improve outcomes of patients with diabetes.
Dr. Vigersky lives in Washington, D.C. with his wife and enjoys spending time with his two children and grandchildren.
