Footnotes

† Refers to SmartGuardTM feature. Individual results may vary.
‡ Taking a bolus 15 – 20 minutes before a meal helps to keep blood sugar levels under control after eating.
§ Do not wear or place your pump more than 14 in (35.5 cm) above your infusion site. Doing so can cause an over-delivery of insulin, which may result in hypoglycemia
¶ Assumes 4 injections per day for 30 days and one infusion set change every seven days.
◊ Assumes one infusion set every seven days. More insertions may be required if the Extended infusion set requires replacement before specified wear time.
# Proper pairing, connectivity, and settings required. Talk to your healthcare professional before establishing and changing your settings. Ensure that all doses taken with InPen are logged in the app, that all doses taken with a device other than InPen are logged manually in the app, and that glucose and meal information entered into the dose calculator are current and accurate. Not doing so can result in incorrect dosing, hypoglycemia or hyperglycemia, and serious injury.

Important Safety Information: MiniMed FlexTM system with SmartGuardTM technology with Simplera SyncTM sensor and Instinct sensor

The MiniMed FlexTM system is intended for the continuous delivery of basal insulin at selectable rates, and the administration of insulin boluses at selectable rates for the management of type 1 diabetes mellitus in persons 7 years of age and older, and of type 2 diabetes mellitus in persons 18 years of age and older requiring insulin. The system is also intended to continuously monitor glucose values in the fluid under the skin.

The MiniMed FlexTM system includes SmartGuardTM technology, which can be programmed to automatically adjust insulin delivery based on continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) sensor glucose values and can suspend delivery of insulin when the SG value falls below or is predicted to fall below predefined threshold values. The system is intended for use with connected sensors, including the Simplera SyncTM sensor and integrated continuous glucose monitors, including the Instinct sensor, each of which has different wear-time, form factor, insertion site, and other distinguishing characteristics that relate to sensor performance. Consult the appropriate sensor user guide when using the system.  Discuss treatment decisions with your HCP.

WARNING: Do not use the SmartGuardTM feature for people who require less than 8 units or more than 250 units of total daily insulin per day. A total daily dose of at least 8 units, but no more than 250 units, is required to operate in the SmartGuardTM feature.

WARNING: Do not use the MiniMedTM Flex system until appropriate training has been received from a healthcare professional. Training is essential to ensure the safe use of the MiniMedTM Flex system.

WARNING: Do not use SG values to make treatment decisions, including delivering a bolus, while the pump is in Manual Mode. When the SmartGuardTM feature is active and you are no longer in Manual Mode, the pump uses an SG value, when available, to calculate a bolus amount. However, if your symptoms do not match the SG value, use a blood glucose (BG) meter to confirm the SG value. Failure to confirm glucose levels when your symptoms do not match the SG value can result in the infusion of too much or too little insulin, which may cause hypoglycemia or hyperglycemia.

Pump therapy is not recommended for people whose vision or hearing does not allow for the recognition of pump signals, alerts, or alarms. The safety of the MiniMed FlexTM system has not been studied in pregnant women or in persons using other anti-hyperglycemic therapies that do not include insulin. For complete details of the system, including user guides and important safety information such as indications, contraindications, warnings and precautions associated with system and its components, see https://bit.ly/MiniMedRisks.

Important safety information: MiniMed Go system

The MiniMed Go system includes the MiniMed Go app, InPen smart insulin pen injector and either the Instinct continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) sensor or Simplera CGM sensor. The system is intended to aid in diabetes management through multiple daily injections of compatible rapid-acting insulins (Humalog, Novolog, or Fiasp). The app and system components each require a prescription. When used with Instinct CGM, the app is indicated for patients ages 7 years and older, or patients ages 2 to 6 years under the supervision of an adult caregiver. When used with Simplera CGM, the app is indicated for patients ages 18 and over. If using InPen alone, the app is intended for all ages, with patients under age 7 requiring supervision. Use of these systems requires, among other things, adequate hearing and vision, a compatible mobile device and operating system, an open app, adequate pairing and connectivity, proper setting, use of an approved rapid-acting insulin, mobile device battery power, proper settings, accurate manual logging of insulin doses administered by means other than InPen, and occasional blood glucose meter (BGM) readings. Establishment of settings and treatment decisions should be made in consultation with a healthcare professional and on the basis of a combination of glucose readings, trend arrows, glucose target, active alerts, and recent events (such as insulin doses, exercise, meals, and medications). Failure to observe these and other details as found in the user guides can result in incorrect dosing, missed alerts and notifications, and ultimately hypoglycemia or hyperglycemia, with serious injury or death possible. For additional safety information and user guides, see https://bit.ly/MiniMedRisks.
