Julio Salwen​ 

Julio Salwen is SVP, Chief Quality Officer at MiniMed Group, Inc. He is an accomplished business executive with over 35 years of global experience in the pharmaceutical, medical device, and diagnostics industries and more than 25 years of leadership in quality management, regulatory strategy, product lifecycle and operations.  In his role, he is responsible for advancing a quality culture focused on continuous improvement, patient-centricity, and business performance. His work supports MiniMed’s mission by fostering ethical, accountable, and competitive practices throughout the organization. 

Prior to his current role, Julio served as Vice President of Quality at Medtronic Diabetes. Prior to joining Medtronic Diabetes, Julio held several senior quality leadership roles at Abbott Laboratories, including Global Head of Quality for the Molecular Diagnostics division and Divisional VP of Global QA & Technical Services for Point of Care. He also spent 23 years at Baxter Healthcare in progressively senior roles spanning site operations, regional oversight in EMEA, and global program leadership for manufacturing and quality system integration across more than 40 plants. 

Julio has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico - Mayaguez, as well as an MBA in Finance, InterAmerican University of Puerto Rico.
