Julio Salwen​ 

Julio is Vice President of Quality at MiniMed Group, Inc. He is an accomplished business executive with over 30 years of global experience in the pharmaceutical, medical device, and diagnostics industries and more than 25 years of leadership in quality management, regulatory strategy, product lifecycle and operations.     

Julio has served as Vice President of Quality at Medtronic Diabetes since 2022 and maintained this role through the company’s separation and IPO as MiniMed Group, Inc. In this role, he is responsible for advancing a quality culture focused on continuous improvement, patient-centricity, and business performance. His work supports MiniMed’s mission by fostering ethical, accountable, and competitive practices throughout the organization.  

Prior to joining Medtronic Diabetes, Julio held several senior quality leadership roles at Abbott Laboratories, including Global Head of Quality for the Molecular Diagnostics division and Divisional VP of Global QA & Technical Services for Point of Care. He also spent 23 years at Baxter Healthcare in progressively senior roles spanning site operations, regional oversight in EMEA, and global program leadership for manufacturing and quality system integration across more than 40 plants.  

Education: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, University of Puerto Rico - Mayaguez; MBA in Finance, InterAmerican University of Puerto Rico
