What would be my monthly payment?

The amount you will pay with the payment plan is calculated by dividing your total out-of-pocket responsibility by 48 and adding the $6 service fee. Your total coinsurance amount is dependent on your insurance coverage.

What is included with the payment plan?

Payments cover your out-of-pocket cost for a MiniMed insulin pump and starter kit. The starter kit includes transmitter and a 3-month supply of the following items: sensors, infusion sets, and reservoirs.

Monthly payments do not include ongoing supplies beyond (or after) the first 90 days. To continue using pump therapy, you must purchase additional transmitters, sensors, infusion sets, and reservoirs separately.

Frequently asked questions

Who is eligible for the payment plan?

Customers purchasing a pump using most commercial insurance plans are eligible. The plan is available to:

  • Out-of-warranty MiniMed customers
  • Out-of-warranty customers using another pump brand
  • Customers who are new to pump therapy

Distributor patients are not eligible for this plan.

Do I have to pay the balance over 48 months or can I pay it off faster?

The 48-month payment plan is our standard option. You may choose to pay off the balance faster with any other term, such as 24 months but not to exceed 48 months.

You advertised $50/month but my out-of-pocket cost is higher. Why can’t I pay $50/month?

The 48-month payment plan is our standard option, but can be smaller depending on out-of-pocket amount. If you want to pay it off faster, you can choose to increase monthly payments or pay in full at any time.

What happens if I switch insurance after buying my pump?

You’ll be responsible for paying the coinsurance amount that is required at the time of purchase. If you change insurance during your pump warranty period, you’ll still be responsible for making the same payment amount.

Can I use the monthly payment plan for my sensor and supply purchases?

At this time, the payment plan is only being offered on new pump purchases only.

Can I pay my entire coinsurance amount upfront?

Yes. If you prefer to pay the entire coinsurance amount upfront, you can opt out of the payment model.

How do I make my monthly payments?

Within 30 days of your pump shipping, you will receive a welcome notification from Monterey Financial Services (MFS), which will include details on how to make your monthly payments.

Plan Terms

  • $50/month estimate is calculated based on average out-of-pocket cost paid over 48 months.
  • Monthly payments include a $6/month service fee.
  • Final cost may be higher than $50/month depending on individual insurance.
  • Patient may elect to pay a portion or all of the upfront cost at any time, without penalty.
  • Starter kit includes one (1) transmitter and a 90-day supply of sensors, infusion sets, and reservoirs associated with your insulin pump.
  • Monthly payments do not include ongoing supplies except for the first 90 days. To continue using pump therapy, patients must purchase additional transmitters, sensors, infusion sets, and reservoirs separately.
  • No upfront payment is required and first month payment will begin 30-60 days after pump shipment. Individual payment timelines may vary.
  • MiniMedTM pumps have certain labeling restrictions that may exclude certain populations, including age and type of diabetes. We recommend you consult your healthcare provider.
  • A valid prescription will be required to purchase. Other restrictions may apply.
